Once in Renaissance Marina we went on with our Icom M-802 SSB radio which is out of order. Trying to fix it in Las Palmas for the Atlantic crossing the radio expert diagnosing the unit found a faulty amplifier in the transceiver and told us only way was to find a second hand transceiver and replace the broken one.

I found one on eBay that was shipped to Sweden and further in luggage through customs in Aruba. Once installed the SSB radio is still not working ! As before it´s receiving but not transmitting. We remade grounding and wip antenna connections to no avail and only thing left to replace is the remote cable between transceiver and antenna tuner.

It would have been of great use on the Caribbean Sea crossing to have the SSB radio for weather as well as emergency calls on 2182Khz.
