Tarps were placed over the flybridge as well as cockpit and all upholstery in both aft cabin saloon and forepeak was covered.

Dora Mac´s own foredeck canvas was applied and all systems shut down.

We will be back late October and in the meantime Rishi on the marina will do regular surveys and check the batteries. 

Direct hit by hurricanes is very unlikely (last time 1877) but if they pass close north of Aruba there will be stormwinds and heavy rain (probably ripping tarps into pieces). One thing is certain though-our return will be a challenge. Wind,dust and a burning sun will be hard on Dora Mac´s exterior and when all systems are shut down over a long period they have a tendency to fail when activated again. We better be well rested and mentally prepared for three weeks of hard work upon return.
