Vi klarte å få til vår egen 17 mai-feiring i dag med felles frokost ombord Nano med de to andre norske båtene "Seven" og "Anna". Tre norske flagg hadde vi vaiende fra båten også. Det ble en lang frokost som strakk seg til lenge etter lunsj. Det gikk ned en god del champagne også. Deretter har dagen vært litt lat. Før frokost kom riggeren med staget - og på en halv time fikk vi trædd det nye staget gjennom salingen (som innebar at jeg måtte heises opp i masten), skrudd på terminalen, og strammet riggen igjen - deilig å ha en seileklar båt igjen! Slik som været nå ser ut kan avreisen være på lørdagsettermiddag eller søndag - da løyer vinden og dreier mer vestlig.

The seventeenth of May is the Norwegian Independence Day - celebrated by Norwegians all over the World - though some beat the gun and get going on the evening of the 16th. We arranged a champagne breakfast on board Nano with the other two Norwegian boats "Anna" and "Seven". This lasted until well after lunch and included the emptying of four bottles of champagne! The rest of the day has naturally enough been a lazy one on board enjoying the sun when it breaks through the clouds. Before the breakfast, the rigger finally came with the new shroud, which we quickly threaded through the spreader (which involves going part way up the mast), got the terminal screwed on, and re-tensioned the rig. It is a relief to have a boat that is ready to sail again - particularly as the weather looks like being favourable for our departure late on Saturday or on Sunday.
