Another day in Lerwick

Vi dusjet tidlig idag, og reiste sammen med Ole og Inger Lise på biltur i den nordligste delen av Mainland. Her er det spektulære klipper med flotte formasjoner og bølgene fra havet durer inn mot land og setter landskapet i en kontinuerlig utviklingsprosess. Mainland er faktisk bare 100m bred på et parti som heter Mavis Grind. Her har man atlanterhavet i vest, og nordsjøen i øst, men en smal landstripe imellom. Vi tok med oss niste, og spiste denne i hagen til et museum som hadde mye å fortelle om utviklingen på Shetland.
 
På ettermiddagen ble det øl, whisky og hvalsnaks ombord i Nano. Deretter ordnet vi en bedre middag ombord.
 
Gutta på Vitoria har siste dag idag - værmeldingen ser bra ut for en tidlig start mot norge imorgen. Vi hadde en hyggelig avsked med dem.
 
After en early shower, we went driving round the northern part of Mainland with Ole and Inger Lise. The coastal scenery is spectalular here - steep cliffs with fantastic formations caused by the incessant working of the waves against rock. Mainland is just 100m wide at one point (called Mavis Grind), with the Atlantic Ocean on the west, and the North Sea to the east. We had some nice short walks on the coast. We took lunch with us, and ate this in the sun in the garden of a museum.
 
In the afternoon wha had beer, whisky and whale snacks onboard with the boys from Vitoria. Afterwards dinner onboard.
 
The boys from Vitoria have their last day today - the weather forecast looks OK for the run back to Norway tomorrow.
