Etter en nyttig formiddag der vi banket alle putene, avrimet kjøleskapet og kastet søppel fant vi ut at vi ville dra til Philipsburg for å handle visse ting som vi så der, men ikke har funnet på den franske siden av øya. En annen grunn var å fylle diesel til atskillig lavere pris enn på den franske siden. Det blåste friskt fra nord-øst i dag - som ga oss en hyggelig seilas langs nordkysten ac St. Martin, men motoren måtte gjøre jobben langs syd-kysten. Turen er ikke så lang - litt over to timer. I Philipsburg fikk vi fylt både vann og dieseltankene, og handlet diverse matvarer - men vi fikk ikke tak i bacon som vi heller ikke har sett på den franske siden. Det var behovet for bacon som var utslagsgivende i vår beslutning om å reise til Philipsburg! Dagens bilde: vannfylling.

 

After a constructive moring where we took all the boat cushions out and gave tghem a good beating, de frosted the fridge and gor rid of rubish, we decided to head round to Philipsburg. Although the shops are better in Marigot, there are certain things which we have only seen on the Dutch side of the island - in particular Bacon. However the shop was sold out of bacon - so one of the main reasons for coming here turned out to be a waste of time. With a fresh north-easterly wind blowing we had a great sail along the north coast, but resorted to motoring after rounding the point of the island and getting the wind more on the nose. It is snot a long trip - just over two hours. In Philipsburg we have filled the water and diesel tanks - a lot cheaper than on the French side of the island for some reason.
