land tok meg over en time med dykking. Rønnaug gikk for å titte i butikkene mens
og over alt!
English version
We spent much of yesterday evening looking after the washing of clothes -
there was a washing machine and tumble dryer in the service block which was very
convenient. These needed to be filled, emptied, and have the tokens put in at
regular intervals, but by the end of the evening everything was done - except
the bed clothes which Rønnaug did this morning. We ate out at a pleasant
restaurant, very late for us - we didn't sit down until after ten, but this was
still early for the Spaniards who didn't really get going until after ten
thirty! It was a laste night for us, and we didn't get up till ten this morning!
Rønnaug did a great job with the remaining washing and then did a thorough
spring clean of the inside of the boat. I was walking round the town looking for
a chandler who could order me the spare parts we so desperately need to stop the
leaking toilet. This is now ordered, and promised to be in the shop at six
tomorrow evening - I hope they manage it. I also got a new set of anodes for the
propeller and shaft - they seem to have been eaten up faster than usual this
season - perhaps the warmer and more salty water than back home in Norway
is the explanation.
We ate a simple lunch of omelette with a beer each at a small café for the
princly sum of ten euros including a tip to the waiter - very reasonable. Some
essential food shopping being done on the way back to the boat. Being a pretty
hot afternoon, it seemed like a good time to don my wet suit and diving mask,
and get the anodes changed. I spent the rest of the afternoon with this project,
while Rønnaug went round the shops in town. Changing the anodes when the boat is
on land is a five minute job, but having to do it all underwater makes life more
complicated - I was over an hour in the water plus the business of washing tools
and cleaning up afterwards! I gave the neighbouring boat a hand motoring over to
the diesel filling station - he was alone onboard. I filled my own jerry cans at
the same time. He certainly needed help - he didn't have much idea how to
manoeuvre the boat and despite having my help and a person on the pontoon when
he came in we only narrowly avoided damage to our boat!
As we didn't take any pictures today I will have to serve up another shot
of the coastline from yesterday's sail.
