We have had an unexpectedly fine day today. We checked out at Bequia and bought some simple provisions, leaving at 11. We had perfect sailing conditions over to St. Vincent, motoring for just an hour in the wind shadow of the island before the recirculation wind kicked in from the north west and took us the last miles to our harbour at Wallilabou Bay. It is in this bay that a lot of the film "Pirates of the Caribbean" was filmed and the set remains intact! We had company of "Kumari" all the way and were pleased to be two boats in a new and strange land. The boat boys were rather oppressive here, one wanted money to help us tie to the mooring, others wanted to sell us vegetables etc, another offered a guided tour to the waterfall, yet another had some simple necklaces.

We agreed with "kumari" to take the guided tour to the waterfall and this turned out to be one of our finest experiences here in the Caribbean. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained about the seasons, pointed out all the different trees and crops being grown and we tasted a lot of the local produce. We bathed under the waterfall before returning to the harbour and restaurant for cocktails and dinner. Here we met a Danish couple who we last met in A Coruña in Spain (their boat is named "LELA")! They joined us for dinner and it transpired that they also knew our Danish friends who had sailed with us from Portugal to Madeira. I shall write some more about St. Vincent tomorrow, but for now I simply attach a picture from the waterfall.
