Click here for English version;

Not exactly the ordinary 17th of May celebration for us this year.  We slept well here in Strusshamn (a well protected harbour just west of Bergen) - no partying or other loud noises during the night. Strusshavn was in the old days used as a "quaranteen harbour" in order to avoid contagous deceases spreading among the citicens of Bergen. Fortunately no yellow flags are hoisted in the top of any of the ship masts here today. We managed to stay in bed until 10:30 today - the early start yesterday must have taken it's toll on us. Today is the day for the final preparations for the North sea crossing to Shetland.  However, we did have the time to put on some nice clothes and participate in the celebration.  It was quite a lot of people gathered here today (3 schools marched in the parade together) with brassband playing in front.

The problem with the TV-PC is solved, without exactly beeing sure of what finally did the job. During the rain today, Nigel found the time to arrange new ropes that will act as a preventer for the main sail and other preparatory jobs. In the picture you can see Rønnaug dressed up and ready for 17th. mai celebration.  The outside temperature is approx. 10 degrees C - so unfortunately it is not "light-dress" weather.

We will not be sure about leaving until we have picked up the forecasts on E-mail, plus a final chech on the Navtex in the morning.
