typisk by preget av turister. Mange spisesteder, puber, gavebutikker osv.
gangbanen.
English version
After a long day of eating and drinking yesterday, and still having a sleep
defuicit on board after our overnight trip, we have had a pretty easy day. We
went to the laundrette to get some clothes washed - they also had some PC's here
which washers could use on the internet. This gave us the opportunity to pay a
bill, check our E-mails and bank balances, and read the Norwegian newspapers. We
also bought motor oil in preparation for changing the oil in the motor. We have
now run the motor 138 hours since launching in April, the interval for oil
changing being 150 hours. We ate Cornish Pasty for lunch - I suppose one has to
when one is in Cornwall - quite nice really. We also bought a tripod for the
video camera - which we are not using as much as we should. For entertainment we
watched the Navy vessel squeezing its way out of the harbour - which they
managed perfectly of course. We have also had a good walk round in Penzance
which is a charming place, but marked by the tourism industry - lots of
cafés, pubs, souvenir and craft shops etc. The weather has again failed to show
us the Cornish summer - cloudy with occasional drizzle, but pleasantly warm. We
have also arranged to meet our friends Richard and Mary tomorrow for a visit to
the Eden Project. Today's picture shows the lock which holds the water in the
harbour. This doesn't open like a traditional lock, but is flipped down under
the sea surface before high water, and is flipped up into place again after high
water - explaining the seaweed on the walkway.
