Det var litt rart å våkne i en vanlig seng
idag. Vi tok det helt med ro idag, selv om vi fikk gjort en god del gjøremål.
Jeg hadde bestilt noen reservedeler og nye ting til båten, og alt dette måtte
sjekkes. Én pakke fra USA var ikke kommet i det hele tatt - heldigvis ikke
kritiske ting men veldig irriterende. Jeg mangler også kreditnota for noen deler
som var feil og ble sendt tilbake. Dermed ble det litt tid foran PC'en. Vi måtte
gå en tur i byen - fordi jeg trengte litt 15mm plastrør som jeg hade mistet
overbord i Easdale. Vi fant noe som passet bra - jeg trengte 40cm, men måtte
kjøpe en hel lengde på 3m! Det var allikevel billig - £3.50. Etter en bedre
lunsj drog vi til Whitehaven med disse tingene som skulle ombord, samt for å
hente flere ting fra båten som vi ikke fikk med oss igår. Plastrøret ble kappet
til riktig lengde og fikk en festeskrue på riktig plass, nye hestesko-livbøyer
kom på plass med båtnavn og refleks på, men en metallstang (jockey-pole) som man
bruker når man seiler med spinaker viste seg å måtte få sine innfestinger
bygd om, så disses stålbøyler ble tatt hjem igjen for litt varme og muskelkraft
(se bilde).
Været har vært varmt men en byge tidlig på
formiddagen, ellers fint. I skrivende stund er det snart middag, så dette
får være nok for idag.

It was a little strange to wake in a "normal"
bed this morning. We had a pretty easy day, but got some of our jobs done. I had
ordered a number of spare parts etc for the boat, all of this had to be checked.
One package from the USA hasn't come, and a refund I am expecting for som
returned parts is also missing - therfore an hour at the PC writing fax'es and
phoning round. Fortunately none of the missing bits are critical for our trip -
just "nice to have" stuff. We had a walk down the town in order to buy a short
lengt of 15mm plastic pipe to replace a piece used on the dinghy which I
carelessly lost overboard at Easdale. I need only 40cm, but had to buy a whole
length of 3m - still it only cost £3.50. After lunch we drove to
Whitehaven with these things for the boat, and to pick up things we didn't
manage to take with us yesterday. The new plastic pipe got cut to the correct
length and a fastening screw put in where it was needed. The new horsehoue life
bouys got the boat's name marked on and some reflective tape. The fittings for
the jockey pole (piece of aluminium usede in conjuncture with a spinaker) did
not fit, so we took these home with us to give them some heat and muscle power
so as to form them to the right shape. (See photo).
Fine weather today, just a shower in the
morning, otherwise warm but cloudy. Just now it is soon dinner time, so this
will have to be enough blogging for
today.
