After all the preparations for the storm which was to hit us yesterday or early today, the net result was no more than a moderate breeze for a few hours in the middle of the night followed by half an hour of torrential rain, then a few showers until about eleven. By twelve the sun was out and the boat had dried up nicely. That is the kind of storm i can cope with.

I had real problems sending the blog yesterday, the normal GPRS-connection by mobile phone didn't work - probably a problem with the mobile operator here. So I tried the satelite phone, but this wouldn't work either. Eventually, late in the evening, I managed to make a connection to a modem in England with the mobile and got the blog off - but no picture. I have spent most of today in front of the PC trying to get the satellite phone connection to work, but it seems that the problem was with Iridium - the operators of the satellites, though I haven't checked this yet. Having sat so much in front of the PC I can't face a long blog today, so I'll finish with the picture I couldn't send yesterday of me and the offending piece of sack cloth which was wrapped round the propeller.
