Sam Poh Tong Temple
Sunday 19th November 2017
We drove out of Ipoh on the main highway back towards Pangkor, and half an hour later arrived at the Sam Poh Tong Temple, one of several cave temples in the cliffs surrounding Ipoh. The cave was first discovered by a monk in 1890, and is still used by nuns and monks today seeking solitary meditation. Clearly there must be a part of the temple not open to the public where they do this, as it was crowded with visitors when we were there. The garden, however, was indeed a very peaceful place.
