We made very good time to arrive in Figueira da Foz early evening, in plenty
of time for the sardine barbecue, which, actually, was very nice. It was
rather a late night during which several bottles of Port were drunk. The
yacht club ended the meal by serving up a tot of colourless liquid that many
suspected was grappa - however, it must have been much stronger because even
Bob was knocked sideways by it and took to drinking water for the rest of
the evening (well, almost - he seemed to revive a bit when the Port bottle
appeared!)

We visited the old city of Coimbra and its University - all very
interesting. We also went to the Casino yesterday evening for a show
entitled 'Hot Legs'. I wasn't sure I wanted to go but it turned out to be
very entertaining and reminded me very much of the dancing ladies on Sunday
Night at the London Palladium (youngsters will have to ask the oldies what I
mean!)

Steve changed the water pump on the engine because it was leaking, otherwise
not too many jobs to do on the boat.

The guys on Bali Hai invited the rest of the fleet for drinks on their boat
yesterday afternoon, and there were a few crew members on other boats that
didn't quite make the start this morning (though of course all three of
Scott-Free's crew were up and ready - if a little fragile!)
