Monday 10th December 2012

Distance run: 31 nmiles

The northerly wind finally died down soon after midnight, so in the end we didn't miss much sleep. We lifted the anchor as soon as we could see the reef this morning and sailed to the San Bernardo archipeligo, south of the Rosarios and off the Colombian coast. We dodged a few squalls on the way and got hit by a couple - a bit wet but not too much trouble. We arrived in the anchorage mid-afternoon and were much happier here. We had so much swinging room we could let out miles of chain if we wanted, so we dropped the anchor and decided to stay a couple of days to enjoy the peace, calm and clear water.
