We have been on the same broad reach now for the last 24 hours, with the autohelm set to wind, and making a fairly steady course in generally the right direction. The wind picked up in the early evening and so we reefed down to half the genoa and one and a half reefs in the main to make life comfortable overnight. The wind blew a continuous 20-25 knots throughout the night, occasionally gusting 27 which meant we made good speed but the sea became a little lumpy. We both slept well on our off-watches though. We had some rain on and off, but no flying fish. Serafina, on the other hand, had their turn of experiencing the delights of a flying fish in the cockpit, and it took Rob some while to catch it and throw it back. He said, with a note of surprise, that it smelt of fish. Hmm...never mind Sarah...
