Distance run: 6 nmiles

No need to rush around this morning as we only intended sailing 6 miles across to Cane Garden Bay on the north coast of Tortola for a beach barbecue later in the afternoon.  So we pulled up the anchor around midday and motored out of the bay. Actually we motored all the way because the wind was right on the nose and we were in no mood to tack back and forth.  So by 1330 we were anchored again and busy making coleslaw for the picnic.

Later we all went ashore laden with food for the barbecues, salads and drinks, and a very nice time was had by all.  Michael and Anne had prepared a game called “tossing the baby” which involved throwing balloons filled with water to one’s partner from ever increasing distances.  Eventually of course several of us ended up soaked as the “baby” was dropped and burst.

As the sun began to dip towards the horizon we packed up and returned to the boats, and shortly after all went aboard Caduceus for drinks.  It was not a late night however, as many eyelids were very heavy after all the activity of the last few days.
