Marathi, Crete -> Souda, Crete

As lovely as Marathi was overnight the swell crept into the bay. It got a little bit uncomfortable rolling about, so we decided to try Souda bay.


Souda bay is used quite often by NATO warships. So we tried to call up on the vhf to request permission to enter. We got no response so decided to carry on any way.  At the top end of the bay we anchored with four or five other boats. It was very well protected and the swell had not made it that far, so it was much more comfortable. The water was not as clear but there was the bonus of a turtle.
