Wednesday:

Today we worked on the boat. In the morning we checked the deck hardware and lubricated the moving parts. In the afternoon we started work on the forward shower, and replacing pipes. We managed to get the shower pump working by the end of the day. We had a quiet evening onboard.

Thursday:

Today we started work on fitting the new shower – well to be exact we got the bits out to work out how it would fit and realised we needed some extra bits. This meant we had to head off into town to our favorite Ferretería (Hardware store). Armed with the bits we needed we walked slowly back to the boat (well it was very warm and far too hot to walk fast). After Lunch and a short siesta we carried on with jobs on the boat. Anne made a mosquito net for one of the windows and Stephen worked on the shower. Unfortunately we have now realised it is a much bigger job than we thought – so we are evaluating our options!!

This evening we enjoyed dinner out on deck (well to be honest it’s too hot to eat in the saloon!) After dinner we heard a few fireworks. We had heard it was a fiesta in Javea today so we thought it was to do with that. Then when lots of fireworks went off and there was a lot of cheering going on we realised it was the football – Spain had just scored.  As I am writing this there are lots of fireworks, hooters and cheering going off. Spain have just got through to the final on Sunday!! We did think about going into town to join in the celebrations but one Spanish celebration in a week is enough. Hopefully they won’t celebrate too late – we need some sleep.
