Today, Saturday, after 21 fantastic days was our last full day in Cascais. After a brilliant day out in Sintra we sorted out the final bits on the boat so we can sail – its amazing how much we change from ‘sailing mode’. to living mode’ when we stop.

Stephen dashed to the out of town shopping mall to replace some shoes he bought for a different size, while Anne sorted the boat, topped up the water and fendered off a charter boat leaving on the berth next to ours.

In the afternoon we scared the cats by starting the engine and visiting the fuel pontoon. A mere 260 liters later (about 25% capacity) we waddled fully laded back to our berth. It makes filling a car seems trivial by comparison – no springing on/off or running around with warps and fenders for 90 minutes.

We prepared a basil pesto risotto for the passage on Sunday and had a final last goodbye G&T with Mistletoe who are off across the Caribbean on Sunday (via the Canaries).
