This week has been another busy week. We started the week off by fitting the new hatch. We thought it would be a quick two hour job, but it took all day. Each morning Anne has given the stairs a light sand and then a coat of varnish. She will be really glad when the final coat of varnish is applied. We also started removing the caulking along the toe rail, did the laundry, washed the seat covers from the saloon, water tested the hatch (seems ok but the first heavy rain is the real test), fixed Tim’s brakes and broke his gears (that should stop people asking us to help fix their bike!!!) and Anne had a haircut - not from Stephen J

The social life is picking up now as more and more cruisers are arriving. We are meeting lots of new cruisers along with some we have not met for several years (David and Lisa on Gyatso). We also met some guys who are all 70+ who sailed over from Malta – they very kindly treated us to Champagne one evening.

The other newsworthy item is Stephen now drinks coffee – well rich Italian espresso.

After a week’s hard work, on Sunday we treated ourselves by  cycling to the beach and enjoying a  coffee & croissants. It is still very hot at the moment. Note Anne’s new haircut!

The Italians love to stand in the sea and chat for hours.

Last year this bar had birdhouses on the outside, which were later decorated and then sold. Among the cruisers it was known as the birdhouse bar, it’s going to cause some confusion this year as it will now be the fish bar!!

The marina is filling up early this year.
