Anne’s Day:

Today the sun and warmth were back. After breakfast we popped along to see Karen, Richard & Brian to find out how Brian’s hangover was (we’d read their blog over breakfast) Brian was fine and showing no ill effects from the night before. They invited us along on a trip out to Sao Vicente. After much deliberation I decided to go with them, leaving Stephen back at the boat putting up the curtains.

The drive out was lovely – the skies were bright blue and so was the sea. There were a lot of breaking waves along the coast and the surfers were out in force. Surfing looks like one of those sports where there is a lot of hanging around waiting for “the perfect wave”. The coast line is stunning, it’s quite different seeing it from land rather than the sea. On the way back we stopped at the fishing port of Baleeira which is very picturesque and Praia de Luz which is a lovely beach resort, although very compact.

When we got back I found that Stephen had had trouble putting up the curtains as it was a 2 person job. After lunch we went for a walk to check out some apartments our friends had found on the internet for their stay in January. We then came back and put up one of the curtains – actually replaced the original prototype (it always takes longer than you think it should).

This evening we played Scrabble and watched a DVD.

Stephens Day:

Today the sun and warmth were back. After breakfast we popped along to see Karen, Richard & Brian to find out how Brian’s hangover was (we’d read their blog over breakfast) Brian was fine and showing no ill effects from the night before. They invited us along on a trip out to Sao Vicente. After much deliberation I decided not to go with them, leaving Anne to run around having fun.

The curtain fitting was lovely – the skies were bright blue which I could see from inside the boat. There were no waves on the boat and no surfers (as we are still in a marina). Curtain fitting is one of those sports where you hang around waiting for a helping hand. I did fit one small curtain myself.

While hanging around I was visited by Kay who is handing over the Ch 77 broadcasts (I think to make sure I really was going to do it!). I then caught up on some long overdue emails and paperwork.

Other than that, my day was the same as Annes!
