Today was boat cleaning day so we got up and cleaned the boat. Koshka and Yoyo hid on deck while we vacuumed down below. They got a bit confused when we started vacuuming on deck (as did the other boat owners!). We are very house proud of our boat! The cats quickly went to the safety of the saloon while we vacuumed the boat.

As it was a dry day we took the opportunity to also vacuum up the cat fur that had been collecting on the spray hood (where Koshka and Yoyo sit in the evenings). I am beginning to see the advantages of the furless cat!!

After lunch we went off for a walk to the local DIY store that we spotted on a drive round Lagos. It turned out to be an Aladdin’s cave of things. We kept a tight reign on ourselves and only bough the items on Stephens list. On our way back to the boat we went past some of the many Stork nests. Storks are protected in Portugal and so if they have nested on a chimney it can’t be pulled down. In Lagos there are quite a few chimneys left standing and even a few old chimneys incorporated into new builds. As you can tell from the pictures below the storks even incorporate lightening protection into their nests.

This evening we finished fixing the cockpit table and had a quiet night in.
