Abelike Bay, Meganisi -> Vlikho Bay, Levkas
38.41.186N 20.42.048E On Thursday we left Abelike and motored the 8 nm to Vlikho Bay. Vlikho bay is a relatively good bay, the holding is generally good and it’s not too deep. We wanted to get ourselves secure so we go by bus to Levkas to try and get Arthur fixed. Over the weekend there were some fairly strong winds. We watched a number of boats drag their anchors. When we came to leave we were quite surprised boats dragged, our anchor was well secure in the very sticky mud!! Monday we were up early to catch the bus into Levkas. We found the shop we needed to leave Arthur with quite easily and then spent the day wandering around Levkas. We found some good supermarkets and quite a number of chandlery’s. Of course Stephen had to visit them all. We had hoped Arthur would be fixed by 5pm. When we went back he was not fixed and the prognosis was not good L We left Arthur for more tests. On Wednesday we were woken by thunder. It was strange seeing so much rain. Wednesdays thunder storm. Thursday it was back to Levkas to pick up Arthur. Unfortunately he could not be fixed. Friday we went back to Levkas to go shopping at the large supermarket and buy a new small outboard fuel tank. |
