hadn’t been to the local beach. Hence we were under strict instructions
to attend at midnight. At 11pm we headed down to the local beach. This turned
out to be another Spanish fiesta/tradition. The beach was absolutely packed
with families having picnics around beach fires all celebrating summer
solstice. Tradition has it that at midnight everyone enters the sea and lets 7
waves pass over your legs for good luck. After a hectic few days today we took it easier. We went
shopping for food in the morning and slept in the heat of the afternoon. Anne
is getting quite good at asking for an Apple slice and a Danish pastry in
Spanish. This evening Stephen prepared some salads with the fresh veg we
bought. As it’s got much hotter recently we decide it was
haircut time again, so we cut each others hair. After showers we had dinner of
the delicious salads. We were just thinking how warm and still the evening was
when the wind suddenly picked up to a F5. We are currently sitting on deck with
a nice warm but strong wind blowing. Koshka and Yoyo have a good routine for the hot days –
they just sleep during the day and then when the sun goes down they become
active. Anne has finished hand stitching the leather on the steering
wheel. |
