On Friday we drove to Faro airport to pick up Mia and Michele, Anne’s friends from her ex-work. We introduced them to our old lifestyle, an afternoon on deck drinking G&T’s. In the evening we went to the local Portuguese fish and chip restaurant – unfortunately there was a lack of “freedom” fish, the local fisherman’s catch was poor due to the rough seas. They did have farmed fish though – at least we knew the fish we ate was fresh!

On Saturday we showed them around the local market. We actually saw a poor rabbit being taken home in a string bag. The cabbages are still giant. We then took them around the fish market. We actually managed to take some pictures of the markets today.

We then went to the beach and had lunch at a beach bar, although it was far too windy to sit out. We then went for a walk along the beach collecting shells.

In the evening we went out to our favorite Italian restaurant. As ever the service was brilliant and the food yummy. Mia had a G&T that was 90% gin with a splash of tonic. Her one drink kept her going all night.
