Sunday:

We had a quiet day recovering from the night before and preparing for the fiesta finale tonight. After our evening meal we set off out to see tonight’s live band – Sergio Alcover and the Supremos crew. They were very good and the act included some impressive dancing. After the band we checked out the disco – and although it was past midnight it was still overrun with 8 – 9 year olds. We then walked a bit further round the harbour to watch the fireworks. It was the best firework display we have ever seen. Unfortunately we had not taken our camera so there are no pictures.

After a drink in one of the squares in town we went back via the disco – the dancers were now in their early teens!!. Feeling old we went home.

Monday:

Another quiet day recovering from the night before. It was a bit overcast and we even had some rain, but at least it was a bit cooler. Stephen spent most of the day tracking down a new anti-syphon valve. It’s a long story but by the end of the day we had one – we now need to fit it. The weather does not look good for leaving for the Balearics this week so we will have to get on with a few jobs around the boat and recover from the Fiesta instead. We did one or two jobs around the boat before an early meal and watching a DVD.

It was strange lying in bed with no loud music – the silence was deafening – we couldn’t sleep!

Tuesday:

Stephen spent the day re-bedding the forward hatch. It has always had a bit of a leak but has been getting progressively worse and it now has a steady stream of water coming in when it rains. Meanwhile Anne had her sewing machine out again to make up some webbing straps for the bimini and the dinghy.

We will be having another quiet evening in trying to get use to the silence. Maybe we should put our hifi on full blast tonight so we can sleep.
