After a couple of very nice days in Navy Bay with Clive and Tricia we decided to sail to Vathy. It’s one of Jim’s favourite places to go and see the lady at her restaurant with the red check tablecloths. Always made very welcome and the food is so reasonably priced and delicious.
We had a great sail and nearly made it all the way under sail. A space we could see with the binoculars on the quay just for us and one for Tricia and Clive next to us.
We covered 16.92 miles and very pleased to say the water temperature is a good 28 degrees. So warm just like a bath.
We made the most of our stay and walked along the coast road to the restaurant/bar called Palaiokastro. Excellent service with lovely lemon drinks, beer and coffee. Beautifully tiled and clean bathroom I was informed and a lovely view down the coast line.
Staying on the quay cost 15 euros for the first night and 7.50 the second night. The cost of visiting a British harbour is at least three times that without being in a marina.
Greece has so much to offer everyone.
