26th May, 2018 Saturday
Time for peace and quiet in the surroundings of beautiful mountains and crystal clear water with Brian and Mari on Genevieve. We have enjoyed the quay with 6.30 pm evening drinks on each other’s boat and taking turns in cooking the evening meal which we continue at Vidhi. Clive and Trisha have been launched and are suffering with the force 7 trying to pass Hydri. They arrive a little tired after a hard day at sea and join us all enjoying the tranquillity of the bay. Yes we can’t start our journey to the Sporades and Brian and Mari out to the Cyclades but this is meant to be a holiday so we are enjoying the peace and quiet. The wind will decline at some point and we will be off on our travels.
By Wednesday we are starting to feel we need shopping, water and electricity so we make our way back to the quay and once in a very nice spot we decide to stay. The weather is good for the beach so we play holiday makers and have sunbeds, beers and swim.
The charter boats are still causing lots of amusement as they forget to have ready their lines for stern to or drop the anchor just a few metres from the wall and catch the jetty chains and then need to dive to retrieve the anchor so they can be on their way. The charter boats full of young people party all night with loud music and voices but it’s part of summer enjoyment for some.
