Saturday 14th June, 2014.

We came out of Nisiros harbour and straight away it was a very lumpy sea.  Sails up and on we progressed with a little help from the spinnaker for a couple of hours as we gradually found less and less wind. Several hours later we pulled into the little new EC harbour of Astipalaia.  We had seen more dophins on the way which was a delight for Sue.

The harbour is surrounded by beautiful white and blue houses with a castle with two churches in its walls on top of the hill overlooking the bay.  1000 people live on this beautiful island all year round.   Sue and I had a great swim from the beach after we managed to get over the rocks into the water.

The harbour had some great restaurants and we enjoyed the home made food at a central restaurant with hand painted menu’s and painted wine jugs.36:32.86N    26:21.27E    Astipalia, Greece.
