Sand Bar Bay, Kifinos.

Tuesday 24th May, 2022.

The huge wind has dropped so now is our time to cross to Sand Bar Bay, Kifinos from Poros. Unfortunately, now we have very little wind so we had to motor the first 31 miles with the help of the main after 10 miles and once passed the military/uninhibited island of Yeoryios we were able to pull out the genny once a small breeze came our way. It’s amazing how like glass the water looks when there is no breeze.
Lots of tankers anchored around the island probably to do with the crisis in the world.

A cruise liner the Azamara slowly went on its way to Athens.

On our way a small pod of dolphins joined us for 20 seconds.

We pulled into Sand Bar Bay around 5 o’clock and anchored. Quite a good time of 8 1/2 hours although the motor had to do a good proportion of the 50.3 km. A very pretty place with sheep roaming all over the island. No wind forecast so it should be a super quiet night.
