Port Camargue 17th May, 2010.  Part 2

Beautiful sunshine again today but the wind is still with us.  White horses blowing into the marina and quite a swell in the bay. Back to riding the bikes again today but this time heading into town and looking for the nature reserve where the flamingo’s live.

We cycled along the beach and into the old town.  We were amazed at the long streets of little shops all open selling summer goods.  We can only imagine in the season it would be hard to wander down these streets comfortably once all the apartments are occupied.  We have never seen such big ice-cream counters.

We cycled over the little bridge which joined one part of the town to another.  The old town was fascinating and so many little restaurants were mostly busy.

We managed to find the flamingo’s and we have never seen so many.  Although we could view them from the road it was wonderful to see their graceful movements in such abundance.

The wind comes and goes so perhaps tomorrow it will die a little and we will be on our way.
