30th June, 2013.

We motored around to Russian Bay on the other side of the island so we could enjoy the day’s sun and not be in the wind’s way.  We had a lovely time swimming once we were anchored and safely tied to the rocks.  Frank and Jim went to look at the little caravan on the beach which does beer and food for the evening but there was not a lot of choice so they said they would rather go into Navy Bay and go ashore and visit the quay on Poros and have a selection to choose from.  Frank had a good walk over the island in the afternoon and discovered a few little coves we cannot visit with Ariel.

We went ashore in the evening where we were told there was a special evening of celebrating Ascension Day by children.   We watched for a while but could not understand exactly what was going on so we left. They were beautifully dressed up and doing acting out a scene but it was over our heads.

We made the mistake of going to a popular restaurant for dinner where hundreds of young people from the USA, Canada, South Africa etc. who were now tied up alongside the quay for Greek sailing week descended on the restaurant after they had taken our order!  Noisy was not the word!
