We left the quay and motored around to Grikos for a swim and lunch.  Late afternoon we motored over to the island of Lipsi to meet up with the Cruising Association members.  The hills are green dotted with blue and white chapels and village houses painted in mostly blue shades. The island is 4 square miles and has lots of beaches, produces wine and cheeses.  It is one of the many islands where Calypso beguiled Odysseus.  The monastery of Patmos has owned the island since Byzantine times.  The blue domed church of Agios Ioannis which overlooks the harbour holds a famous icon of the Panagia.  Ancient lilies within the frame miraculously spring into bloom on 23rd August for the feast of the Yielding of the Annunciation.  Unfortunately, we have arrived too late!

We covered 9.75 miles on a very calm sea.
