9th September, 2014.

We left Porto Kheli after a little shopping and boat watching.  The mega rich have their boats around these shores and although we try star spotting we never quite recognise anyone. We did see a little kingfisher skim across the water in front of us.

We left around 12.30 ish after an early lunch in bright sunshine.  We motored out of the entrance with the main up and we were hoping the breeze would allow us to use the genoa once we were around the first headland and pointing slightly off the wind.  Jim was right as always and we were soon turning off the engine and sailing along.  The clouds started to build and as we were sailing and tacking passed Ydra and we remembered the thunder and lightning storm we experienced with Alison and Steve last year.  Luckily, the very black clouds travelled away from us as the land started to disappear in the distance.  The sun never came through again but we missed the rain.  At the same time we were experiencing the threat of a storm our friends in the Ionian at Preveza we witnessing a small earth quake.  They reported their boat was still standing on the hard and would be launched tomorrow all being well.

As we are heading towards Poros the sea is very calm and we are having to motor down the channel.  We have covered approximately 32 miles today.
