Koiladhia

Friday 9th October, 2015.

Motor sailing to Koiladhia to put the boat to bed for the winter feeling a little sad as the weather has been fabulous this week we came across the biggest pod of dolphins we have seen in the last two years.

They did us the honour of coming up to the boat and swimming under it.  We counted at least 15 but there could have been 20 in all.  They were all gray bottlenose dolphins with babies swimming with them.  On the last headland before we turn into the Koiladhia channel there is a fish farm and they were busy chasing the fish which gather near the fish farm.  We had at least twenty minutes of fun watching them.

Our little buoy was still there and waiting for us.  There use to be two but there are now two buoys on one rope but still safe for Ariel to use.

After lunch down came the sails and put away for the winter as in the forecast there is a warning of rain.  The breeze picked up in the afternoon but luckily no rain.  Jim swam and cleaned the boot line and we generally put a few items away.  The wind dropped and we had a lovely dinner watching the sunset.
