It’s good to be back in Greece

8th May, 2018.

After two summers of not being able to sail Ariel we arrived back in Greece. Jim had spent two weeks with Ariel in 2016 arranging a cover in order to protect her from sun damage.  It took the makers six months to actually fit it on the boat so as you can imagine Ariel looked lovely with her new cover but underneath she was very dirty. Lots of tender loving care was now needed. We spent a week cleaning, polishing and replacing batteries, having the Raymarine mast fitting checked and the new cable fitted along with a new light. Every evening we showered and wandered a couple of hundred yards to the small family taverna for a well earned dinner often sitting there on our own as there were no other customers. Food is excellent and we always come away very happy.

It was good a week later to be in the water and anchored in the delightful quiet bay of Kilada.  The sails needed to go on and more equipment to be put back in place for the summer season. Who said being boat owners was easy?
