9th May, 2011.

We wake to a very windy morning and it was obvious we had to make a move in the next hour or so as the wind was getting stronger by the minute. Although the sun as out with very few clouds the wind was bending around the cliffs and into the bay.  We managed breakfast in the cockpit but we were soon off the 7.12 miles to La Maddalena Island and the marina. It was nice to see several of the island sea school boats out sailing along with us.  We were jolly pleased to see the entrance to the marina and the very kind marina guys who come out in their rib to help you moor stern to.

We took the bus to the Island of Caprera in the afternoon which is mostly national park.  People picnic, walk, cycle and explore the island.  Many of the wooded areas have picnic tables and mostly there is a sea view to be seen at all times.  The bus dropped us by the harbour at Stagnall where we spent a very pleasant hour before returning to La Maddalena.
