The 3 cousins returned to the UK late Wednesday night. We did try and leave the quay as MedSails were all around us partying but the catamaran who came in after we went to lunch Wednesday was over our chain. So back to the quay and wait for the morning. Although they started partying at 4 pm when we went to bed with the fan on we didn’t hear them at all.
Jim was up early to go to the weekly market for fish and peaches. We had a super dinner later in the day.
It was very calm on the south quay but as soon as we motored out towards the headland the wind was just waiting for us coming over the mountains. We had the main up with the engine as it was very strong on the nose one minute and then dropping off. We let the main sheet out and a few minutes we were pulling it in again all the way under we took the sail down just outside the Poros channel. The true wind clocked 28 knots at times but the sun was out and Ariel was powering along covering the 20.20 miles.
We anchored in Navy Bay for the night and went by dinghy and saw Brian and Mari for drinks.
The next morning we moved to the top bay looking at the mountains with Poros in our sights. The thunder rumbled and there was a shower at 5.15 am this morning but the sun has been showing itself off and on all day.
We have been doing cleaning jobs ready for the lift now on Thursday due to the weather forecast showing lots of wind for next weekend.
I have cooked a spaghetti bolognese to entertain Brian and Mari this evening.
