37:21.5N 23:28.8E Mandraki Bay, Hydra.
Thursday 4th July, 2019.
The weather is very calm and just right for Hydra. We had considered going by ferry but that isn’t so much fun as sailing over yourself. Jim decided Mandraki was better for us and Angie, Nicki and I could take the water taxi while he looked after Ariel.
We motored sailed all the way and it was very pleasant. We had lunch as soon as we arrived and then we were off in the dinghy to the little jetty to wait for the ferry which was not long coming.
I think Angie and Nicki enjoyed the harbour area, the beautiful bars and restaurants which have sprung up around the rocks in order to watch the sunset. We walked up the narrow lanes looking at the hotels and the beautiful houses nestled in the rocks and some built on the rocks. The small horses which take all the supplies from the ferries all over the island were lined up on the quay side. Still no cars on the island.
No ice-cream or water to buy on the quay only restaurants and bars to sit and buy your requirements.
We took the water taxi back to Ariel and Jim came and collected us from the jetty and refused an ice-cream!!!!!
