I had had a blood shot eye for nearly two weeks so I went to the health centre in Leonidiou by taxi as the bus service either doesn’t arrive or the times are a little different. Straight in to see the doctor, examination, phone call to ophthalmologist and an appointment for 9.30 the next morning the doctor writing down the name and address of the ophthalmologist for the taxi driver. The doctor checked if I could afford the taxi fare before I left. This I thought was a brilliant service.
Before heading back to Ariel we had had coffee and did some shopping for provisions.
The visit to see Olga Kapteanh the ophthalmologist was again was a very good experience.
I was her first patient of the day and had arrived 15 minutes early so Tricia and I sat on the wall outside.
Straight away she looked at my eye and said I can see you have nothing to worry about as it will clear with time. She spent three quarters of an hour explaining about my eye and the possible causes before putting in drops and showing me to the waiting room for the eye drops to work.
Her examination room and waiting room were beautifully decorated with views to the beautiful mountains.
Once she was free again I was shown back into the examination room and she examined both my eyes giving me a full description of both eyes. An hour and half later we left her surgery thanking her for an excellent service. Her charge for this service was 40 euros!!! Unbelievable service, care and the cost very little. The eye is gradually improving each day so I am very happy. My dear friend Tricia wrote down everything she said and gave me a full report incase of further problems.
