Sunday 30th May, 2021.

We were up at 6.30 a.m. on this grey morning. Where had the sunshine gone? Coffee, cornflakes, fruit and yoghurt was ready once the anchor was up and stored. The view down through the gap of Poros and Galithes is beautiful even on a not so bright day.  We could just see The Garden Restaurant where we had had a super meal the night before. The locals are such friendly people.

We had to motor the 45.07 km although we had the main and genoa up nearly all the way there was just not enough puff for them alone. We motored along at 7 ½ knots with Brian out in front all the way.

We made Sand Bar Bay at lunch time and found a space for Ariel among the weekend visitors from Athens. Brian and Mari came for drinks on Ariel at 6 and by this time most of the weekenders had disappeared and the serious sailors were left.  It was good to see the restaurant overlooking both sides of the sandbar was up and running and was very busy.  They had done some work to improve the look of the place which was needed.  After not such a brilliant meal there last time we decided Ariel’s cuisine was best today. The sheep just before dark walked across the sand bar and onto the island. Where they came from was a mystery but with babies in tow they disappeared over the hill of the island. We went to bed around 9.30 p.m. as an early start tomorrow and I must admit it was the best sleep I had had since being in Greece.  The peace was wonderful!!!!!!
