Lipso walk 20th June, 2021.
Tricia, Clive, Jim and I walked one of the many walks of Lipso Island to look at the anchorage on the south side of the island. You look out to a small island in the bay called Lera Lipso and care has to be taken due to a reef off shore. The scenery is beautiful and we swam in such clear water you could imagine. Lipso has such wonderful coves, restaurants and the people are lovely. While we followed the goat path back from the beach Jim managed to disturb a little owl in a wall. Tricia and I were so jealous we had missed it. Jim walked into the honey farm and bought a new pot with thyme. Delicious!
As we walked along the road a chap was training a beautiful chestnut horse. He asked us if we were English as the horse use to be a race horse and had won several races and was now retired and he was retraining it. Great to talk to him and learn about the local life on Lipso.
Last night we ate up at Manoli’s and for 35 Euros for two had a fabulous meal with wine and water. When we arrived he showed us the kitchens and what specials they had for the evening before being shown to our balcony table. When we left every tablet in the restaurant was full with people queuing in the street. The gentleman comes to the harbour and hands out leaflets to all the boats and it is a pleasure to eat at such a wonderful restaurant with great food.
