21st & 22nd July, 2009.   43.3 miles sailed

A sunny day at sea with the sea flat calm and the only event of note was sailing along through millions of swimmer crab present in the top surface of the sea.  One small lonely Atlantic common dolphin was seen.  We managed to sail the last hour from Cabo da Roca the most western point of Europe, into the five star marina.

Arrived at Cascais at 6.30pm or as we found out we had been living in Spanish time and Portugal was on one hour behind the same as England.  We now realised why we had received some funny looks going into restaurants in Portugal.

We met up with my previous client Casilda in Cascais who came to the marina and took us out for a conducted tour in the evening in her car.  The next day we went on the train into Lisbon and saw some of the sights including Castelo Sao Jorge with fantastic views over Lisbon.  The evening we met Casilda and went to a Portuguese Fado music at the Chiado Theatre, followed by a Portuguese meal deep in the back streets of Lisbon.  Casilda drove us back to the marina where we were treated to the sounds of the Katie Melue concert from a nearby venue.
