Wednesday 21st August, 2013.

We started our day with the view of the 1931 built sailing yacht “Sea Cloud” which dropped its anchor just outside the harbour wall this morning.  We looked up the yacht to see where it would be going on from here and there is a great piece about the wonderful ship in their own words for well heeled Americans and Germans.  Probably as we would need to know the price we won’t be going on it!

We decided to go bike riding this morning before it got to hot along the coast road towards to the airport.  We passed some beautiful turn of the century houses and it was good to see a great number of them were very loved and looked after.  This is obviously the best side of town with luxury apartments overlooking the beach and sea.  We had intended to go swimming but there were only stones and rocks in the water so we gave it a miss just in case we slipped.

The wind has stopped at present and the air is very hot but according to the weather forecast it is due to blow 6 from the north later.

We joined the walkers last night who walk the wall in the early morning and after 8 at night.  With the use of the Iphone to measure our walk around the wall and back to Ariel we covered 1 mile.   Some people pass us 4 or 5 times each evening.  Most are aged over 50 and are a little round.  We thought perhaps there was a new doctor in town encouraging everyone to exercise more on this very smooth concrete wall.

The marina has its own piece of Petrified Forest displayed in a glass cabinet at the entrance to the pontoons.
