We have spent a very nice few days on the wall at Astrous. Beautifully clean and looked after by a team of cleaners keeping bins emptied and any cigarette ends picked up. No dog mess!
The small beach of pebbles is just over the wall with a super fresh cold water tap to rinse off. It has been exceptionally hot at 42 to 47 but with electricity we are running the fans and the transcool is running off the batteries.
The locals say it was wet in May unknown and now this increasingly hot weather is causing all sorts of problems. We experienced the ash clouds in Porto Heli for two days but until last night it has been very clear. A few ash clouds formed on the mountains but didn’t come into the town. We are horrified at the fires in Rhodes, Corfu and now Elvia.
We get lifted on Friday at Kilada so hoping everything goes well and the fires don’t come our way. An apartment for three nights has been arranged as the heat in the yard could be unbearable. Whatever jobs we can’t get done will have to wait until next season.
