Ils Lerin, Cannes and Antibes
18th June until 29th June, 2010.
While Geoff and Vivienne were with us we sailed around between the islands of Lerin, Cannes and Antibes. We were anchoring as much as possible so in order to enjoy the freedom of just jumping in the water as and when we felt like it. The water is so clear and there is no problem of looking to see where the anchor is at any time. The beauty of the islands and the views are stunning. It is somewhere in the future where we will spend more time.
It was sad when it was time for Geoff and Vivienne to go home as we had had a great time chilling out together.
30th June, 2010.
Frank and Sue Brown duly arrived and as per instructions we met up with them at the fuel barge in Antibes marina, timed to the minute for filling up with fuel and water and off we went.
We headed straight out to the Ils Lerin and anchored there for the night. We managed a lovely walk around St. Honore in the evening.
After breakfast we moved to the other island in order for Frank and Sue to explore Fort Royal. As it was so hot we swam from the shore and afterwards Jim towed the three of us back to Ariel with lots of kicking from us to help.
Jim decided we would move 4.6 miles to Theoule as it was a lovely afternoon for a short sail. We anchored in John and Tina’s bay around 7 p.m. and after dinner we went ashore to investigate this lovely little town. The town is well set up for visitors with lovely restaurants and small shops. We found a lovely little café/restaurant for a beer and the meals looked superb before returning to Ariel.
