A short hop this morning over to the centre of Lorient.  A large city with an impressive large estuary entrance.  The harbour is home to the largest fishing fleet in Europe.  Also a strong French Naval and military influence.  Unfortunately a lot of the original historic buildings around the harbour were destroyed by allied bombing during the second world war.  Not helped by Gerry building his submarine pens in the harbour so making the whole area a target for bombing.

A tranquil harbour right in the centre of Lorient only a very short walk from all the shops and only 20 euros a night !  A very hot day again, so under the bimini, thanks Tony.

A day spent walking around the town, sitting drinking coffee and watching the world go by.
