Wednesday 14th May, 2014.

The weather forecast was not good for Wednesday evening/Thursday so we left our lovely little anchorage and Jim motored Ariel into the marina.  It was opened in 2009 and we knew that spaces would be available as the take up for the marina was low and they are often advertising.  A beautiful large wall which have been built to overlap the entrance and which takes the surge out of the waves makes the pontoons very quiet.  We were given a space and the staff were on hand to help us. Swimming pool, restaurants, showers, laundry, car hire and shops are among the extras on site.

We took the bus into Altinkum and walked towards the beach area.  People were swimming in the sea, council gardeners were planting out the pansies and generally a lot of British could be heard everywhere. After an ice-cream we walked along the length of the prom and made our way back to the marina passing some very nice looking 5 star hotels.

This evening the wind has started blowing very hard and the skies are pretty black so we made the right decision to seek a marina for the night.
