11th October, 2011.

Tuesday arrived and Jim was getting ready to head off to the Gulf of Amvrakikos for the next few days in order to be near Preveza in case the weather broke again.

Vonitsa is a small town with small bays on you right as you head up into the small quay where we were stern too under the large Venetian fort built on the side of a Byzantine fort.  Later in the day we walked up to the fort which was closed but the views over the bay were fantastic.  According to history books Robert Guiscard died here of an epidemic at the fort with 10,000 of his Norman troops.

Jim and Frank saw a turtle in the area near the quay.
