Wednesday 9^th October, 2013.

It was time unfortunately to leave this super little anchorage and make our way a little closer to Marmaris for the Saturday lift out.  The scenery is fabulous here and the area very quiet and so sleeping at night was bliss without any taverna music sounding across the water.  One English ship anchored in the bay is 105 years old and as it went out past us chugging along there were huge clouds of smoke. 

We motored out of the bay and it was not long before the sails were up.  We came across the race fleet we saw earlier in the week but this time going our way.  Some of the sailing was not brilliant so Jim had to give a little lesson on how to do it right and we left quite a few of them behind.  Once they arrived at Bozuk Buku we discovered they were part of the Russian Sailing Week Regatta made up of fairly young people having a fun week of sailing.

Bozuk Buku has ruins of a castle on the slopes as you enter the bay and further ruins at the head of the bay.  Three tavernas are spread around the bay.  There is no mains electricity and the taverna nearest to us started up its generator to cook the meals.   Goats are visible around the mountains with chicken roaming near the shore.

By eleven o’clock all was quiet from the tavernas and we were able to enjoy the wonderful sky full of stars as the anchorage was so dark due to lack of lighting.  It was amazing how many stars we could see. 

A wonderful place to visit for the first time after covering 24.61 miles.
